I grew up spending summers in a small beach community a lot like Edisto, and although time has changed that beach, Edisto reminds me of long lazy days swimming, sailing, crabbing, and the strong sense of community.
I moved to Summerville from Charleston in 1984 and because I believe in giving back to the community, I volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Junior League of Summerville in the mid 1980’s - mid 1990’s. During this time I obtained my Masters of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston, and began teaching in Summerville , mostly working with struggling students in the field of reading. I recently retired after teaching for 26 years in Dorchester District 2. I plan to volunteer and substitute when possible at the nearby elementary schools to help students succeed in reading.
In 1998 I began building my home in Edisto Beach and I would visit during school breaks, summers, and weekends and in 2007, I became a full - time resident of Edisto. When I am not working, you can usually find me walking the beach, kayaking, or gardening.
While still teaching, I began working at Coldwell Banker in 2016 as a Sales Professional. I am also a graduate of Clemson University with a major in Ornamental Horticulture and minor in Business. I have drawn landscape plans for both commercial and residential clients and still do consulting in that field. These days I try to combine my landscape knowledge with clients who are trying to improve their curb appeal as well as their functionality of space.
I left Coldwell Banker to be closer to home and joined Carolina One Kapp Lyons Group in May of 2017. I am looking forward to helping both residents and visitors with their buying and selling needs here in our own little piece of paradise that we call Edisto, as well as in Summerville, my home for 25 years.
